Biography

Prof. Dr. Şeyma Özkara-Aydınoğlu, rector of Istanbul Galata University, graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Boğaziçi University in 2000. She completed her master’s degree in the same department in 2002 and her doctoral studies in 2008. After serving as a research assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Boğaziçi University Faculty of Engineering from 2001 to 2008, she worked as a research specialist at TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center Energy Institute from 2010 to 2011. Prof. Dr. Şeyma Özkara-Aydınoğlu worked as a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Istanbul Beykent University from 2011 to 2024.

She has published numerous scientific studies in journals with high impact factors indexed by SCI. These studies have received over 1000 citations to date. She has been involved in various projects and served as a referee in TÜBİTAK and European Union projects. In addition to her academic and scientific work, Prof. Dr. Şeyma Özkara-Aydınoğlu has taught various engineering courses and contributed to the development of graduate students. She has also held administrative positions such as department chair, vice dean, dean, and vice rector. Prof. Dr. Şeyma Özkara-Aydınoğlu is married and a mother of one child.
