Biography

Prof.Dr.İlgi KARAPINAR has got her B.Sc degree from Biology Department at Middle East Technical University. Then, she got her M.Sc and Ph.D degrees at Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Environmental Engineering Department. One of her reserach areas is biological tretament of complex and recalcitrant pollutants by using special microrganism and novel wastewater treatment technologies. Her other reserach area is bioproduction of reneawbale energies such as biohydrogen and biobutanol from organic wastes. Recently, she is studying on other valuable biomaterial synthesis, for example chitin production, from waste organic materials.
