Biography

Prof. Dr. Eralp Ozil received   his PhD in mechanical engineering   from University of Kentucky in the USA in 1976. He has forty-five years of experience in all phases of energy engineering, mechanical engineering and active research as a special governmental advisor, national representative to international commissions, international consultant, national consultant, research director, program manager and teacher. His key qualifications include R and D policy making and planning, investment planning, feasibility studies, socio-economic impacts of technologies, philosophy of technological advancement; research and development of solar energy, wind energy and renewable energy technologies in general, fundamentals of heat transfer,  insulating materials research, radiation heat transfer, industrial energy conservation, industrial drying, heating, air conditioning and ventilation, computerized control of energy, computer assisted system simulation and modelling; research, development and management on environmental engineering related concepts, waste management, industrial wastes, and computer assisted modelling on pollution and related subjects, clean rooms, validation, total quality management related studies, reverse engineering, production planning and control. Participated in a major NATO international cooperative program as a project director and served as a deputy to Turkish national coordinator with the major responsibility for the development of program management handbook both at NATO and in Turkey. Became a permanent member of the National World Energy Conference in 1981. Served as the scientific member in the International Bilateral Cooperative Programs with USSR. Represented Turkey in OECD Industrial Energy Conservation Experts Meetings. He served as the founding dean of Yeditepe University, served as the dean of the graduate school of science and engineering in several universities and founded a number research centers. He has over 40 PhD students in the fields of mechanical, industrial and applied engineering fields. Has authored extensive series of articles, technical papers and reports for presentation and publications including several books, has directed over 20 major industry funded projects on energy conservation, rational use of energy, environmental engineering and related process optimization studies and several EU projects. He has been cited numerous times both at national and international scientific environment. His latest works include “Carbon Foot-Print Report of Seydikemer County and Municipality” according to GPC method in 2018 and he is currently working on energy efficiency and sustainability projects for a leading ceramics plant in Turkey and is the founder and CEO of ZETA Consulting Company since 2001.
