Biography
Prof. Dr. Egemen Sulukan received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Turkish Naval Academy in 1997, and completed his Master’s degree in 2004 and his Ph.D. in 2010 at Marmara University. He served as second Engineer and Chief Engineer aboard vessels of the Turkish Navy and the Turkish Coast Guard, and later held academic positions as faculty member, department chair, and associate dean in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Turkish Naval Academy.
He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Istanbul Gedik University, and also acts as an expert for the European Commission as well as a technical mentor and evaluator in the NATO DIANA Program.
His research interests include energy technology system analysis and modeling, renewable energy technologies, marine propulsion systems, dual‑use technologies, and green transformation. He teaches thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermal system design, and energy system analysis, and continues to conduct research on energy‑oriented decision support tools and sustainable technologies.
