Biography

He received his Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 1984, his Master’s degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Institute of Natural Sciences, Yildiz Technical University (YTU) in 1987, and his Ph.D. in 1992. He served as a visiting researcher at the University of Nottingham from 1990 to 1991 and as a visiting faculty member at the University of Leicester in 1997 and 1999. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1997 and to Professor in 2001 in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Kocaeli University. He retired from Kocaeli University, where he had served since 1985. Since 2017, he has served as Department Chair in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Istanbul Gedik University. He served as Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences at Istanbul Gedik University from 2018 to 2019, as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 2019 to 2020, and as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 2024 to 2025. Since October 2025, he has been serving as Acting Rector of Istanbul Gedik University.
