Güneş Enerjisi ve Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesinde Uygulanabilirliğinin Değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
One of the main problems of Turkey is the dependency to energy sources from outside of Turkey to generate the electricity. Therefore, all renewable energy sources such as hydro, wind, solar and geothermal should be used to decrease this dependency in the country. Although many investments have been done by private sectors to use wind energy for this purpose in the last decade, this is not possible to say similar things for the solar energy. However, many stimulus packages have been presented by government of Turkey to increase investments to the solar energy and photovoltaic (PV) systems are expected to grow dramatically in the next years. The Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey has many advantages for solar energy to generate electricity because of its geographical location. In this paper, the potential of electricity generation by using
solar energy in the Southeastern Anatolia Region is evaluated in the aspects of available areas for photovoltaic power plants in the region, solar irradiance values and sunshine durations.
