Theoretical Model to Relate Morphology to Device Efficiency

 

Abstract

We have developed a computationally efficient method for modelling PV device, based on a mesoscopic drift-diffusion model, in 3D microstructures.  It includes the photoactive layer modelling which is based on numerically generated morphologies.  Polymer blend microstructures are generated using the Cahn-Hilliard model.  The combined morphology/device performance modelling are then explored in a systematic way.

 

Biography

Emine MEŞE – Graduated from University of Dicle, Science and Art Faculty, Physics Engineering department in 1986 with a BSc degree in Physics Engineering. Completed a master degree in Dicle University Institute of Science and completed a PhD degree in Durham University, Physics Department in UK in 1997. Has been in Australia Melbourne University Physics Department as a Visiting fellow for a year in 1998-1999. Worked with Nigel Clarke in Durham University Chemistry Department in 2008-2010 as a Postdoctoral fellow for the Project EP/F056303/1, High-efficiency Block Copolymer Solar Cells: A Scaleable Prototype for Low Cost Energy Generation. The main area worked is theoretical atomic and molecular physics, particularly atom-laser interactions.
